House wine costs a very reasonable £11.20 and there is a choice of about 20 red and white French and New World wines for about £12 / bottle. Champagne is available and, naturally for a house of such establishment, a fine selection of sherries, port and Madeira. In particular, Gordon's Old Wood Tawny, drawn form the wood is a port to relish.
Like these exalted predecessors, you have the choice of eating in the vaulted interior or, if weather permits, outside on the terrace. The menu, which changes daily and is displayed on a blackboard, represents some of the best value for money in London. Salads cost about £6 and the choice includes roast beef, gammon, smoked and poached salmon. For the same price one can enjoy onion quiche, pasties, oven baked garlic mushroom, and aubergine with mozzarella and tomato all with salad.
