Situated in the heart of Covent Garden, a few seconds from the Piazza, Opera House, and numerous theatres, Maggiore's is an exceptional venue providing inspirational Provencal and Tuscan cooking in a delightful environment.
Starters include favourites such as pumpkin soup with aged parmesan & truffle cream and classics such as pan fried caramelised Foie Gras with confit lemon & treacle dressing and Hand Picked Dorset Crab Meat.
Main courses range from the interesting roasted wild pheasant from Devon, Confit Leg and creamed cabbage & fondant potato; Slow braised lamb shank, roasted charlotte potatoes and confit wild garlic & rosemary and the delicious roast fillet of wild Sea Bass.
Tempting desserts include the classic crème brûlée with passion fruit sorbet, Lemon grass Panna Cotta with exotic fruit Jelly & lychee sorbet and the wicked warm chocolate ‘Moelleux’ with pistachio ice cream.
The well balanced and thoughtful menu is matched by a 1800 selection wine list which has won the ‘Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2002 & 2003’ and the Best of Award of Excellence for 2004 – of which only 400 restaurants in the world have had the honour of receiving.
Maggiore’s is by far the most romantic restaurant in Covent Garden but also lends itself to social dinners with friends and more formal business entertaining. A sliding conservatory roof affords al fresco dining when fully open in the summer while a roaring log fire provides a warm and inviting break from the winter cold. Maggiore's is now non-smoking throughout the restaurant, with smoking permitted in the lounge area.
