London Map for Salisbury Pub

This is one of London's most striking Victorian pubs with splendid cut glass mirrors, fine upholstery and a magnificent bar. A recent refurbishment has returned The Salisbury to all its original glory. There is a spacious main bar and a more intimate snug. As befits this environment the menu is traditional English pub fayre of a very high quality.

The speciality of the house is the daily roast, either beef, pork or chicken. Other worthy main courses, which cost about £6, are traditional fish and chips and Yorkshire pudding filled with sausage and mash. For those in a hurry there is a special snack menu offering three sizes of platters, small, medium and large with such delights as wings of fire, BBQ ribs, onion rings and nachos. These are ideal sharing items. Sandwiches abound including hot roast beef, hot sausage, Cheddar and pickle and three versions of the traditional ploughman's.

At The Salisbury there are always four traditional cask ales on tap such as Courage Directors and Theakston's. The selection rotates and there is always something to suit everybody. In addition, John Smith’s, Guinness, Becks, Fosters, Kronenberg and Strongbow Cider are always on hand. There is a good selection of bottled beer and a well chosen and reasonably priced choice of wine ranging in price from £9.65 for South African Chenin Blanc to £15.10 for Chateauneuf du Pape. Wine is sold by the glass both 175ml and 250ml.

There are many good things about The Salisbury which are reassuring and consistent, not least the very pleasant and helpful staff. One has the distinct feeling that staff and management are glad to see you, to welcome new faces and the return of old friends.
